Load the archive into ChatGPT
Recommended pack — ChatGPT Pack (Compact Book Pack).
Setup steps
step 01
Create a Project called 'The Ocean Accord'
Open ChatGPT → New project → name it after the book. Projects keep files, instructions, and chats in one workspace.
step 02
Upload the ChatGPT Pack
Unzip 01-chatgpt-pack/ from the Reader Edition and drag every file into the Project. The pack is sized to fit your plan's file limit.
step 03
Paste the starter prompt
Open 00_START_HERE.md from the pack and copy its starter prompt into your first message. Optionally add READER_PROTOCOL.md content as the Project's custom instructions.
step 04
Begin in Mission Control
Ask: 'What is the fleet's posture in the first 12 hours?' Then move beat by beat. After each operational moment, request a witness record, a systems note, or a record triangulation.
Starter prompt
I am reading The Ocean Accord, an agent-native literary archive. Read START_HERE.md, READER_PROTOCOL.md, MASTER_CANON.md, and ROUTE_GUIDE.md first. Act as the reading interface. Do not invent canon. Do not summarize the whole book at once. Guide me through the story one beat at a time. Start with Mission Control for Chapter 1. After each operational beat, offer me either a character witness record, a systems note, or a record triangulation option.
Copy this into the platform after uploading the ChatGPT Pack.
Notes & limits
- ChatGPT Projects have a per-plan file cap: Free 5, Go/Plus 25, Edu/Pro/Business/Enterprise 40. Only 10 files can be uploaded at once.
- The ChatGPT Pack is sized to fit inside a single Project — 15–20 compiled Markdown files.
- Projects keep files, custom instructions, and chats together across sessions — exactly the workspace this reading format expects.
- If long sessions drift, paste a short reanchor: 'cite the file you're reading from'.
